25zero app for iPhone and iPad

25 Mountains. Zero Latitude. 25 Years. Zero Ice.

This application uses HealthKit, an Apple platform which organises and stores your health and fitness data. When you share your Health information with 25zero, we use your available elevation data to plot your climb progress against real mountains.

Climate Change is an urgent issue and arguably the biggest threat facing humanity. Melting glacial ice is one of the clearest indicators of this complex issue and nowhere is it more apparent than where you’d least expect to find it; the equator.

Tim Jarvis, AM is an environmental scientist, adventurer and author. He is embarking on an expedition called 25zero to climb three of the 25zero mountains (Carstensz Pyramid in Indonesia, Mount Stanley in Uganda and the magnificent Chimborazo in Ecuador), to highlight the radical changes these precious environments have undergone in recent times, due largely to human-induced climate change.

From each mountain the teams will relay imagery and messages highlighting the rapidly disappearing glaciers. They will do this to instill a sense of urgency and to show the severity of the changes being wrought in these precious and fragile ecosystems.

The effect

You can make a real difference when you join Tim and use the app to virtually climb these mountains (as an individual or with your friends and colleagues). You can travel alongside Tim and his team of international climbers and to assist their cause, you can donate what you can or get your friends to sponsor your efforts via the 25zero app. All money raised goes directly to for our Official Charity Partner, WWF.
